Vantage Drilling, Offshore Installation Manager, 2010 - 2013

  • Appointed as Master and Offshore Installation Manager of the "Platinum Explorer", a newbuild 6th generation Dynamic Positioned ultra- deepwater Drill Ship of $ 650 million, 238 meters with a crew of 180. This is the first drillship and most important asset, with year revenues of over $210 million.
  • Shore based in DSME Shipyard South Korea, followed from ship's construction, commissioning, mobilization and successful operation start up for a five years contract in India.
  • Assisted in manning and crewing, sea trials, client acceptance tests, logistic, regulatory compliances, completed initial year of operation with productive time in excess of 92%, well above peers' average.
  • Completed utilization at 98.0% utilization.
  • Performed HAZID, HAZOP, Risk assessments, HSE audits, ISM and ISPS implementation and achievement of full term certification.
  • Returned to DSME Shipyard in South Korea as the assigned Master/OIM of the Drillship "Tungsten Explorer", at that time under construction.

Transocean, Master, 2000 - 2010

  • Later, appointed Master of a new build 6th generation dynamic positioned ultra-deepwater drill ship of $ 680 million, 228 meters with a crew of 172, the "Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1".
  • Then shore based at the SHI Shipyard in South Korea; followed the ship's construction, commissioning, mobilization and successful operation start up for a five years contract in India.
  • Conducted sea trials, client acceptance tests, DP FMEA, logistic, regulatory compliances, manning and crewing, bunker management.
  • Performed HAZID, HAZOP, Risk assessments, HSE audits, ISM and ISPS implementation and achievement of full term certification.
  • Previously as Master of the "Deepwater Expedition", a 5th generation ultra-deepwater drillship, executed exploration drilling campaigns in Brazil, Egypt, Morocco, and India.
