Developed and implemented Corporate Safety and Health Policy, the Contractor Safety and Health Policy and the Major Incident Investigation Guideline resulting in enhanced safety programs and improved safety performance throughout the company.
Presented training programs on various safety and industrial hygiene subjects especially hazardous materials, asbestos, hearing conservation, ergonomics and emergency response resulting in enhanced levels of awareness and safe operating procedures among company employees.
Headed up a company wide Contractor Safety Task Force aimed at improving the safety record among contracted personnel. The resulting policy and program included pre bid qualification criteria, contract review for safety and on-site safety and health monitoring requirements for contractors. The program resulted in significantly improved contractor safety performance.
Chaired program activities of the Toxicology Committee of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, developing and presenting seminars for members and laymen.
Developed an OSHA Injury and Illness Record keeping Audit Protocol to ensure compliance with the OSHA/BLS Guideline on Injury and Illness Record keeping. Conducted the initial audits for two years before the protocol was adopted into an overall EH&S audit program. This program has resulted in an enhanced level of regulatory compliance and avoidance of citations.
