CECON History
In 1985 six retired Du Pont scientists and engineers started The CECON Group, Inc. They immediately found a huge demand for their state-of-the art technical expertise. But in the course of their consulting, they also found a huge demand for technical experts outside their own skill areas. Thus the CECON consulting network began finding the exact experts who can specifically address the clients technical problem and needs. Today the CECON consultant family is still growing with more than 700 technical experts in our data bases.
CECON's original roots were in chemistry, polymers, chemical engineering, materials technology and related fabricated products. Today CECON represents a vast array of world class scientific and engineering experts in many disciplines. We serve many Client Sectors, as detailed in that section of the web site. Today CECON's consulting practice is almost evenly split between materials technology, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, and support for attorneys, either in patent cases of as technical expert witness.
CECON Consultants serve global clients in all areas of science and technology, excluding Medical Practices. Consultant application area generally segment into four equal categories:
- Legal Clients with matters related to patent litigation, defense, and tort cases related to product or technology fitness for use;
- Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Clients, including Biotechnology;
- Chemical Engineering and fissures related to process design, process equipment and plant chemical, food, petroleum or pharmaceutical plant operations; and,
- All other technology, including electronics, mechanical systems and the other subjects shown to the left in our "Area of Expertise" list.
Business and Technical Staff
Our in-house technical staff will help you find the best technical expert for your project quickly and at no cost. If CECON does not have the technical consultant in its network of experts, the CECON Staff will find the technical expert you need.
Boyd Sorenson, President: BS Chemistry, MBA, Brigham Young University. Boyd is a technical marketing and business expert and executive with over 35 years' experience in defining, launching and operating high-technology new business.
Stanley Tocker, Executive Vice President: Ph.D., Organic Chemistry, Florida State University. Stan has 40 years of experience in organic synthesis, polymers, pesticides, formulations, patent strategy and chemical products liability.
William C. Golton, Vice President: Ph.D., Analytical Chemistry, University of Iowa. Bill is an expert in laboratory management, LIMS, analysis and testing, especially relating to paint, pharmaceuticals and regulatory matters.
Barry E. Bowen, Vice President: Ph.D., Analytical Chemistry, University of Florida. Barry has more than 35 years of experience in business leadership, human resources, technical project management, classified projects, government funding and contracting, and high performance materials.
Christine J. Wesley, Controller: B.S. in Financial Management, University of Delaware. Christine has over 20 years experience in public accounting, auditing, payroll management and corporate accounting.
Andrea C. Beck, Consultant Administrator: Has over 15 years of administrative experience in different industries with over 10 years of placement experience. Andrea manages communications with CECON consultants and the databases used by CECON to identify talent and expertise needed by clients.
