Experience

Independent Consultant 1990 - Present

  • Development and construction of InGaAs based photodetectors.
  • Designed and supervised construction of a spectroscopy test station to include electro-optical characterization of detectors and comparison with competing materials.
  • NIR spectroscopy applications for InGaAs detectors, including he new graded (for longer wavelength range of response) and Multiple Element Linear Arrays (MLA).

EG&G Applied Research Lab, Princeton, NJ

  • Established an optics laboratory, developed CCD characterization tests, talks, papers, and seminar material.
  • Developed two commercially successful applications for CCD detectors in the areas of polymer light scattering and shock pulse dynamics (weak Raman scattering applications).
  • Built Charge-Couple Devices prototypes and supervised the test beta sites at outside facilities.
  • Conducted training programs for new line of CCD detectors.

Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, OK and University of Arkansas, Fayetteville 1979 -- 1987

  • Associate Professor of Engineering Physics.
  • Undergraduate teaching: (Circuit Theory - Electronics, Optics-College of Optometry, Astronomy).
  • Developed undergraduate research projects involving visual contrast sensitivity, Michelson's Interferometer, thin film parameters and tilted diffraction gratings.

University of Arkansas

  • Adjunct faculty member and supervised projects such as Graduate Level Laser Lab, Optimum Transmission for Homogeneously Broadened Laser Covities, and Self Induced Transparency of Three Level Atoms.

University to Miami, Research Assistant Professor 1975 –1979

  • Designed optical instruments for Fusion Plasma Diagnostics.
  • Co-principal investigator - DOE contract for Study of Hydrogen Compress Technology for Transmission and Storage.
